I am a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and The Open University. I initially worked as a freelance book and magazine illustrator for publishers such as Hamlyns, IPC magazines, and Oxford University Press, before concentrating on portraiture and landscape. I have painted subjects from all walks of life, from grand official portraits of Masters of colleges and Chairmen of Councils to smaller more intimate family groups or individual portraits. I work in all mediums, from charcoal and pencil to watercolour, pastel and oils. My other passion is for landscape whether it be the rugged coastline of South West Scotland or the vast skies of East Anglia. I have exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, The Royal Society of Marine Artists, the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour and The Pastel Society.
