Zoom Workshop with Bob Brandt “Painting Sketch Portraits”

This is a two-hour online Zoom demonstration with experienced artist and tutor Bob Brandt.

On top of painting prolifically, Bob, a former President of the IEA, has written several “how-to” books on painting, as well as many features in art magazines, he has had work regularly selected for National shows as well as running a weekly art group, and mentoring IEA students.

In this Online Zoom workshop, Bob will talk on the history of portrait painting and why he has learned that he prefers the “sketch” method to a more formal and protracted system. For him, a quick, one hour or less picture in acrylic allows him to present the life and character of his subject. He says it keeps his marks fresh and colours lively.

For a painter wishing to begin or develop an interest in portraiture in any medium, it is an approach that should produce good results and is fun to try.
