Bob was formerly a lawyer practicing in Bristol, and his early interest in art became his profession in 1993 when he started holding one-man and shared exhibitions in the West of England.
He has been teaching the craft of painting to adult classes and workshops for more than twenty years. A former contributor to the Artists & Illustrators Magazine, Bob has more recently been writing for both The Artist magazine, which is published here in the UK, and the International Artist magazine, which is now published in the United States.
He has contributed to a number of books on painting published in the United Kingdom and America. He has also published his own book on the links between the science of perception and the processes of painting.
In the autumn of 2014 Bob was invited to become the Vice-President of the Institute of East Anglian Artists, of which he was a founder member. His work has been exhibited with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Royal Society of Marine Artists at the Mall Galleries in London. He is currently principally represented by The Gallery, Picturecraft, in Holt, where he will be exhibiting continually during 2016.
Painting mainly in oils and in a representational style, Bob’s paintings are now in private collections in the United Kingdom, the United States, mainland Europe, India and Australia. His subjects vary widely but he always chooses to record moments of personal interest and enjoyment. His aim is to celebrate the times in which we live.
